some days

nothing goes right. i struggle with the every day. my children don't listen to a word i say. i chase my tail. my cups of tea get cold. the mail man delivers nothing but bills. everyone in the neighbourhood cuts their grass at the same time. my name is being called way too much. i miss chatting to my friends with out having to run from little distractions. i lose faith in myself.

but today

i am working on believing more in me. & the feeling that i can do it. i can be a better mum. wife. daughter. sister & friend.

  1. Oh ditto to that!!! I think you would struggle to find a mother who hasn't had a day... or even week of feeling like this!!! I guess the silver lining to a day like that is the realization that it can only go up. Happy international women's day xx

  2. Maybe you don't need to be better? Just accept that you're 'normal' and everyone else has days like that too. I know I damn well do, and I don't even have kids! Onwards and upwards....

  6. ahh I love this sarah. I think this rings true for women in general - but mamas all over. we are women first, and mothers second, but motherhood absolutely takes poll position. and we all lose ourselves sometimes in the demands of the every day, raising our little {or big} families. its refreshing to hear other mamas talk about these struggles too, sometimes its easily forgotten that everyone has crappy days. not to revel in their tiny failures {kids gone nuts, didn't get all the washing done, kitchen just as messy at the end of the day as the start, beds not made..} but it kinda serves as a big group hug, and a cuppa (even if it's cold) to pick yourself up and move on to tomorrow. thankyou for your honesty x oh - and I LOVE that image!

  7. Oh Sar, hope you're feeling better today! I must say if it's any consolation you are definitely on my list of 'most admired and inspiring mums'! You truely do an amazing job with your girls and with your hubby all the while showing true love and compassion! Even if you don't hear it often, your work is truely appreciated- you can tell just by the happy looks and free spirited nature of your girls! Enjoy your weekend, and I'll be down for hugs and tea sometime soon xxxxx

  9. I think we all have days like that. I have come to the conclusion after mothering for 27 1/2 years (and still counting!!), that this is a huge part of being a mother. I can't promise it will get easier because it doesn't... I believe it gets harder BUT it's important to remember that we are not alone in feeling this way. AND essential to look for ways to believe in ourselves, remind ourselves that we don't have to be perfect and strive to do the best we can because we can only do OUR best... and imperitive to look after ourselves as much as we look after those we love :)

  10. With the sound of what seriously seems like the entire neighbourhood's ride on mowers droning in my ears, I can totally relate.

It's time for a cup of the delicious champagne and strawberry tea my lovely Mum gifted me and to take a long, calm breath....afterwards a walk with Captain V and Luke inhaling deeply that fresh cut grass smell..there has to be a silver lining for all that noise right?

Happy week ahead my friend I hope it's a goodie.
